The Captain Perkins Room
The Captain Perkins Room is very large and elegant with a walk-in closet. The walls are painted in a light salmon with white trim. The five windows let in the natural light that gleams on the wide pine floor that has an original hand knotted rug from India that is very soft to the bare feet. The room is furnished with a king four-poster mahogany bed. There is also a four-poster mahogany twin bed. The end tables by the bed have Stifel brass lamps for easy reading, and an antique brass pole lamp by the twin bed. There is a bookcase filled with large volume books for your enjoyment. There is plenty of sitting room with two stuffed wingback chairs, a ladies chair, and writing table with two high back chairs.
The private bath is done with white wainscoting, black and white floor, white pedestal sink, and ball and claw tub/shower combined.
The room can also be opened up for the use of a suite to the adjoining Captain Reed Room behind a swinging bookcase and door.
Rates: $135 to $185 plus lodging tax
